Kyle Larson

Kyle Larson begins his sixth season with Hendrick Motorsports. Paired with crew chief Cliff Daniels, the duo will hunt for their third NASCAR Cup Series championship and second in a row after closing 2025 with a title at Phoenix Raceway. 

A versatile racer with more than 250 career victories, Kyle Larson began competing at age 7 and went on to win in nearly every type of race car he climbed into including stock cars, sprint cars, dirt late models, sports cars, and karts.

Jumping starting his racing stardom, “Yung Money” grabbed the attention of the racing world when he won the 2011 4-Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway in 2011, winning in all three type of USAC cars in a single night, becoming the second driver to do so.

After progressing through ARCA and NASCAR’s developmental series, the Elk Grove, California native made his Cup Series debut in 2013 with HScott Motorsports also while he competed full time in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series where he earned Rookie of the Year Honors. He moved to full-time competition in 2014 with Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR), where he again earned a Rookie of the Year award. The following year, Larson jumped behind the wheel of a prototype for the Rolex 24 at Daytona where he and his teammates Jamie McMurray, Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan claimed victory.

After years of trying, Larson finally checked the box of career accomplishments in the dirt racing world by winning the prestigious Chili Bowl Nationals in 2013 for the first of three times. He would also stand in victory lane of the Knoxville Nationals, the top 410 sprint car race in the world three times.

After collecting six Cup wins, 56 top fives, and more than 100 top-10 finishes with Ganassi, Larson joined Hendrick Motorsports in 2021 and it would become one of the most dominant campaigns in modern NASCAR history. He claimed 10 points-paying victories, five playoff wins, the All-Star Race, and led 2,581 laps on the way to his first Cup Series championship. Including his dirt-track schedule, he recorded 33 wins across 97 events that year.

While Larson continued to expand his résumé at HMS, taking on new challenges while adding to his statistics, he also continued with his roots of dirt racing. In In 2024, he attempted the legendary Indianapolis 500/Coca-Cola 600 double, coined the “H1100.” In his Indy 500 debut, he started fifth, led four laps and earned Rookie of the Year honors, ultimately finishing 18th. He returned to Arrow McLaren’s No. 17 Chevrolet to pursue the double again in 2025.

Entering the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season, his sixth year with Hendrick Motorsports, Larson adds a new distinction: two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion. His 2025 title delivered Hendrick Motorsports its 15th championship and placed him among just 18 drivers in history to win multiple Cup Series crowns. Crew chief Cliff Daniels returns atop the No. 5 pit box after the team secured three wins, 15 top fives, 22 top 10s, one pole, and 1,106 laps led in 2025.

Larson was named to NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers List in 2023. He'll enter this season with an impressive resume of over 30 career wins and being in the top-20 of most laps led in his career with over 10,000, 

Off the track, Larson is a committed supporter of youth racing and community initiatives through the Kyle Larson Foundation, the Urban Youth Racing School, the Sanneh Foundation, and his “Drive for 5” program. He also balances a busy racing schedule with family life alongside wife Katelyn and their three children, Owen, Audrey, and Cooper.
